HOW TO AVOID BEING OFFLOADED FROM YOUR FLIGHT?

What is the meaning of OFFLOADED? How to avoid being Offloaded?

OFFLOADED is rejecting a passenger to exit from one country to another because of incomplete documentation, inconsistent answer to Bureau of Immigration (BI) official and security risk of traveler.

After all the efforts, time and money involved in preparing the trip but being denied by immigration officer is so annoying and disappointing. For that, being OFFLOADED is one for the worst thing that may happen to a traveler. But how can it be avoided and averted?

Here are some tips for passenger to avoid OFFLOADED

For OFWs – you are going abroad for employment.

Identify and know your job description, your foreign employer and their culture. Prepare all necessary job-related documents such as:

  • Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC)
  • Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) Certificate
  • Valid Employment Contract
  • Valid Philippine Passport
  • Valid Visa
  • Airline Tickets
For Tourist Travelers – the reason for the tour is to relax, explore and do sight-seeing.

Provide the proof that you are financially capable of the trip. Know your itinerary, the place where you are staying and the sites you will visiting and sight-seeing. Be sure to have the receipt of your hotel bookings, pre-booked attraction, round-trip tickets and the following documents:

  • Valid Philippine Passport
  • Valid Visa
  • Hotel Bookings
  • Credit Cards
  • Bank Statements/ latest Income Tax Return (ITR)/ Proof of properties in the Philippines
  • Round Trip Tickets

Remember these things before going to the airport

  1. Dress appropriately
  2. Provide sufficient documents
  3. Be confident, firm and consistent of your answer when you are being interview by Bureau of Immigration (BI) officials.
  4. Double check your other supporting documents.
  5. Lastly don’t lie to the Immigration Officer (IO)
